The CIHEAM MAI.Chania Conference Center prioritizes health and safety and has fully harmonized its operation with the health protocols prepared by the National Public Health Organization (EODY) of the Greek State.
According to the new measures by the Greek government since 1 September 2021, all participants entering the conference rooms have to show their Certificate of vaccination or Certificate of illness issued thirty (30) days after the first positive test and its validity lasts up to one hundred and eighty (180) days after it.
Mandatory use of a mask for everyone without exception throughout the stay in the covered areas of the conference center.
Please keep the appropriate distance 1,5m in all areas. Disinfect your hands with the Antiseptic gel that will be available in all rooms, coffee and buffet tables. Use the gloves for single use when you serve yourself.

This specific TCA is addressed to participants from all sectors of Education and Training under the Erasmus+ programme, and especially to those involved in the preparation and/or implementation of KA1 and KA2 projects. Emphasis will be placed on representatives of organizations and professionals with experience or strong interest in topics such as social inclusion, active democratic participation of citizens, and the promotion of European values. The activity welcomes both newcomers and less experienced beneficiaries, as well as experienced Erasmus+ project coordinators. The TCA is aimed at individuals who wish to explore cross-sectoral cooperation and develop new Erasmus+ initiatives that promote active citizenship and empower underrepresented social groups. Eligible participants are representatives of organizations involved in the design or implementation of European projects, who are open to collaboration, the exchange of good practices, and the development of concrete actions in the fields of democratic participation and inclusion.
From November 28th to November 29th, 2025
The conference/workshop will bring together academics, diplomats and practitioners over three distinct panel and round-table discussions and two keynote speakers over two days in a retreat style conference to address the challenges of Demography and Immigration, and Energy and Democracy in the region. Each panel will have five to six presenters with about a 5-10 minute presentation each followed by a round-table discussion will follow which will be open to the public. The Symposium is organized by the Agricultural University of Athens and the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS), under the auspices of the ISHS Division Vegetables, Roots and Tubers. This event will take place in the modern facilities of MAICh, located in the beautiful landscape of Chania, Crete, known for its rich agricultural heritage, its breathtaking natural beauty, and its crystal-clear seas This Symposium will serve as a platform for researchers, students, growers, and industry professionals to present their work, share knowledge, and engage in dynamic discussions on the latest vegetable and potato production advances.
