The CIHEAM MAI.Chania Conference Center prioritizes health and safety and has fully harmonized its operation with the health protocols prepared by the National Public Health Organization (EODY) of the Greek State.
According to the new measures by the Greek government since 1 September 2021, all participants entering the conference rooms have to show their Certificate of vaccination or Certificate of illness issued thirty (30) days after the first positive test and its validity lasts up to one hundred and eighty (180) days after it.
Mandatory use of a mask for everyone without exception throughout the stay in the covered areas of the conference center.
Please keep the appropriate distance 1,5m in all areas. Disinfect your hands with the Antiseptic gel that will be available in all rooms, coffee and buffet tables. Use the gloves for single use when you serve yourself.

An International Conference organized by the Technical University of Crete. This conference invites participants to engage in transdisciplinary and anticipatory dialogues inspired by the unique characteristics of Crete’s Biosphere Reserves and Geoparks and their mission as sites of innovation, sustainability, and community engagement. The conference seeks to address the global challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and social inequality through integrative approaches that draw on the best of science, humanities, and the arts. By harnessing the anticipatory potential of science, humanities, and the arts, we aim to foster discussions that bridge disciplines and worldviews, converging on actionable solutions for the present while envisioning the futures we wish to create.

Workshop - Cluster event: Drawing on insights from the BioValue project and related initiatives, this workshop will explore key links between biodiversity, agri-food value chains, the environment, consumer preferences, and public health. It will spotlight the untapped potential of underutilized and genetically diverse crops in creating sustainable, resilient, and health-promoting food systems while supporting agrobiodiversity. The event will foster dialogue among sister projects, aiming to build a collaborative network for developing policy recommendations and serve as a catalyst for future cooperation and emerging research opportunities.

ATTRACTISS – AcTivate and TRigger ACTors to deepen the function of Innovation Support Services – is a 6-year Horizon Europe funded project, which aims to improve & embed competencies, approaches, instruments & governance models for Member States (MS) AKIS and specifically for Innovation Support Services (ISS) as a crucial AKIS actor. The ISS enables the acceleration of individual grassroots innovative ideas to come to fruition & generate solutions for the transition process to a more sustainable agriculture & forestry sector.
