  • EXPLORING THE ORIGINS OF THE MEDITERRANEAN DIET IN CRETE ISLAND

    From July 16th to July 22nd, 2018

    A Summer School organized by the Rutgers University, Department of Kinesiology & Health, in the framework of Healthy Lifestyles Study Abroad Initiative The 3-week educational program «Exploring the Origins of the Mediterranean Diet in Crete Island» aims to provide students the opportunity to study the Mediterranean diet in its place of origin, along with sustainable food production and consumption patterns, emphasizing on traditional Mediterranean practices. One week is hosted at the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania.

  • 13th EURO PhD Summer School on Multiple Criteria Decision Aiding/Making Analysis

    From July 23rd to August 3rd, 2018

    Multicriteria Decision Aid/Making (MCDA/M) has been among the most rapidly growing areas of Operation Research for the last thirty years, both from the point of view of theoretical developments and of practical applications. With the purpose of promoting the diffusion of the potentialities of multicriteria models as valuable supporting instruments in decision-making, a group of well known North American and European scientists decided to promote, gradually, the International Summer School on MCDA/M: Methods, Applications and Software. Since 1983, the Summer School on MCDA/M is a joint event of the International Society on Multiple Criteria Decision Making and the EURO Working Group on Multicriteria Decision Aiding.

  • 164TH EAAE SEMINAR-Preserving Ecosystem Services via Sustainable Agro-food Chains

    From September 5th to September 7th, 2018

    The main objective of this seminar is to bring together researchers and policy makers and establish the relation between agro-food chains and the preservation and provision of ecosystem services. In addition, environmental, methodological and societal issues will be tackled from a transaction perspective. The seminar’s outcome will provide extensive background on the topic for further applications and research.

  • Challenges for the Islands in the era of the Circular Economy

    From September 20th to September 22nd, 2018

    The International Conference CIrClE2018 “Challenges for the Islands in the era of Circular Economy” will be held between 20-22 September, 2018 at the International Conference Center of the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania, Greece, under the auspices of the European Commission; aiming at highlighting cross border cooperation, enhancing bilateral & multilateral relations, strengthening economic & business opportunities and promoting growth, sustainable development and circular economy practices in the islands and coastal areas of the Mediterranean by building capacity to that effect. The Conference cornerstone is explaining the new circular economy framework, sharing good practice, networking & dialogue promotion, focusing on economic and territorial cohesion, capacity building, transferability and regional cooperation in various topics.
